Bin assembly for a vacuum cleaner

A bin assembly (100, fig 18) for a vacuum cleaner is described. The bin assembly comprises a bin body (110, fig 18), a bin base (102, fig 18) pivotally attached to the bin body and moveable between a closed position and an open position, and a bin closure clasp 112 for releasably retaining the bin base in the closed position. The bin closure clasp comprises one or more clasps 190, 192 that surround a part of the bin body and the bin base. The bin closure clasp has a contracted configuration in which the clasps engage with features 198, 199, 128 of the bin body and the bin base to retain the bin base in the closed position, and an expanded configuration in which the clasps disengage with a feature of at least one of the bin base and the bin body to release the bin base from the closed position.
