Wayside shelter

A wayside shelter or bus stop comprising a structure, a camera device for recording visual images is affixed to the structure, and a screen. The structure comprises a structural frame and at 5 least one panel supported by the frame. The camera device is adapted to capture and output real time images of an environment in or adjacent to the shelter, and the screen is adapted to display the real time images output by the camera device in real time. Thus the panel functions as a virtual window, enabling individuals within the shelter to see what has been captured by the camera outside the shelter or vice versa. Also provided is a camera and display system allowing images captured at a bus stop to be displayed in the cabin of a passenger vehicle such as a bus. The images displayed may be composites of real time images captured by the cameras, data on the traffic route and other images.
