Cleaner head for a vacuum cleaner

A cleaner head 20 for a vacuum cleaner (2, fig. 1) comprises a housing (32, fig. 2), at least two rotatable brush bars 22 and 24, and a hair diverter 50. The housing defines a suction chamber comprising an outlet (34, fig. 3). The brush bars have an outer surface and are at least partly arranged inside the housing. The brush bars comprise a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal ends of the two brush bars face each other such that an outlet-facing clearance 31 is formed therebetween. The hair diverter is situated in between the clearance and the outlet and is in direct contact with the outer surface of both brush bars. A width of the hair diverter spans more than a full width of the clearance. The hair diverter may widen in a direction away from the clearance and towards the outlet and may be wedge shaped. The housing may comprise a soleplate 40 and the hair diverter may extend from the soleplate.
