Zusammenfassung: | A system for regenerating electrolyte from an electrochemical cell, comprising; a directing means for receiving electrolyte from an electrochemical cell, the directing means having a first and a second outlet; a sensor or sample port positioned between the electrochemical cell and the first and second outlets via which contaminants in the electrolyte may be measured; and a purification stage for receiving electrolyte from the second outlet and producing regenerated electrolyte, the stage comprising an ion exchange chamber; wherein when a contaminant is detected, at least a portion of the electrolyte is directed by the directing means through the second outlet to the purification stage. A method for regenerating an electrolyte from an electrochemical cell is also defined. The system may comprise the electrochemical cell from which the electrolyte is regenerated, and this may comprise an electrolyser or stack of electrolysers wherein the system comprises means for combining the electrolyte streams into a single stream. The electrolyser may be an anion exchange membrane (AEM). The sensor may comprise at least one of a pH and a conductivity sensor. The ion exchange chamber may comprise a cation or an anion exchange resin and may comprise two or more sub-chambers. |
