Zusammenfassung:	A sanitary pad 100 comprises an absorbent core 120, a bottom layer 140 comprising a non-woven fabric and a polyvinyl alcohol PVA film and a fluid impermeable sublayer 130 comprising a water dispersible or soluble polyvinyl alcohol film layer 132, and optionally a non-woven fabric carrier layer 134, arranged between the absorbent core 120 and the bottom layer 140. The sublayer 130 provides a barrier to moisture from the absorbent core, protecting the integrity of a bottom sheet from any fluid and moisture leakage from the absorbent core, with the polyvinyl alcohol film preventing liquid from passing and the non-woven fabric permitting vapour to be absorbed. Upon disposal in water, soluble PVA films dissolve and allow insoluble layer components to disperse. Additional methods are disclosed for manufacturing a sanitary pad and a bottom layer of a sanitary pad, attaching and assembling release liners, and the patterning of and patterning adhesives on release liners. Various compositions of sanitary pads are also disclosed.
