Zusammenfassung:	A method of manufacturing a bottom layer of a sanitary pad comprises priming a non-woven cellulosic fabric 146 for application of an adhesive by applying an aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) or carboxymethylcellulose and drying the primed non-woven cellulosic fabric. The primer layer or coating 142 may form a polyvinyl alcohol film on the non-woven cellulosic fabric 146, preferably less than 1 pm thick. A water-soluble pressure sensitive adhesive may be contacted to the primed nonwoven cellulosic fabric. A layer of polyvinyl alcohol film 144 may be extruded or thermally laminated onto the opposite face of the non-woven cellulosic fabric 146. Upon disposal in water, soluble PVA binders and PVA films dissolve and allow insoluble layer components to disperse. Additional methods are disclosed for manufacturing a sanitary pad and a bottom layer of a sanitary pad, attaching and assembling release liners, and the patterning of and patterning adhesives on release liners. Various compositions of sanitary pads are also disclosed.
