Resistive device

A printed circuit board based resistive device comprises a first conductive pad 91, a second conductive pad 92 and a resistive patch 94 arranged on the surface 93 of the printed circuit board. The resistive patch has a first longitudinal end 98 connected to the first conductive pad and a second longitudinal end 99 connected to the second conductive pad. A width of the resistive patch varies along a length of the resistive patch and has a maximum at a point between the first and second longitudinal ends. The resistive patch comprises a first end section at the first longitudinal end, a middle section and a second end section at the second longitudinal end. The middle section comprises a plurality of rectangular segments 97 cascaded next to each other, wherein the plurality of rectangular segments approximates an elliptic shape. The first and second end sections may be rectangular.
