Zusammenfassung: | Apparatus for minimising latency in a wireless multi-channel audio system (WMAS), comprising a base station and a plurality of devices. The plurality of devices each include; a first audio clock synchronised to the base station's master clock, an analogue-digital converter (ADC) for converting an input audio signal to the digital domain utilising the first audio clock, a synchronisation buffer to receive the ADC's output, a compressor and compressor buffer to receive the synchronisation buffer's output, and a first radio frequency (RF) modem including a transmitter and Tx packet buffer to receive the compressor's block output, wherein the Tx packet buffer size is an integer multiple of the compressor's block output. The base station comprises; the master clock, a second audio clock synchronised to the master clock, a second RF modem including a receiver and related Rx packet buffer, and an expander and expander output buffer to receive the Rx packet buffer's block output, wherein the Rx packet buffer size is an integer multiple of the expander's block input. Also provided are corresponding apparatuses for use in a device in a WMAS and a base station in a WMAS. |
