Zusammenfassung:An apparatus for system-wide clock synchronisation in a wireless multi-channel audio system (WMAS) comprising a base station and a plurality of wireless audio devices. The base station comprises; a master clock source, a framer to generate frames containing audio data and related audio-clock timing derived from the master clock source, and a transmitter to transmit frames over the WMAS. Each of the plurality of wireless audio devices comprises; a local clock source, a receiver to receive frames from the base station over the WMAS; a frame synchronisation circuit to generate audio data and related timing from the received frames, and circuit to synchronise the local clock source to timing generated by the frame synchronisation circuit to generate a synchronised audio clock. Audio clocks in the base station and plurality of wireless audio devices are synchronised to the master clock source. Also provided is a similar apparatus wherein the base station and each of the plurality of audio devices comprise respective first and second pluralities of clocks. Also provided is a method of clock synchronisation for use in a WMAS and a microphone for use in a WMAS.
