Zusammenfassung:A marine motor drive comprises an even number of electric axial flux motors 1. The motors are connected along a common input axis 3 to a gearbox 4. A drive shaft 5 is connected from the gearbox along a drive shaft axis to a propeller (5, Fig 2). The drive shaft is perpendicular to the common input axis. Ideally the electric motors are located on opposite sides of the gearbox and a pump delivers coolant to each electric motor in a closed cycle.
