Zusammenfassung:There is disclosed herein a packer comprising: a tubular 4 positionable in a wellbore; and a dicyclopentadiene polymeric resin 2 annularly around a portion of the tubular, the dicyclopentadiene polymeric resin being swellable in response to contact with a hydrocarbon fluid in the wellbore. There is also disclosed an article comprising dicyclopentadiene resin cast in a mold with the article being swellable in response to exposure with hydrocarbon fluid at temperatures from 130C to 300C. The article may be a frac ball.
