A fan assembly

A fan assembly (10, fig 1) comprises a refrigeration system (21, figs 4 - 6) having a first heat exchanger 46 and a second heat exchanger 49, with the second heat exchanger being located above the first heat exchanger. An airflow generator 20 generates an airflow over the second heat exchanger and a condensation collector collects condensate that forms on the second heat exchanger. The condensation collector comprises a tray 77 located between the first and second heat exchangers. The second exchanger surrounds (e.g. encircles) a major portion of the generator. The exchangers may be cylindrical. The assembly may comprise a filter assembly (18, 19, fig 2) surrounding (encircles) the second exchanger. The condensate collector may also comprise a bottle 79 connected to the tray via a drain 78, with the bottle located in a gap (79, fig 8) of the first exchanger, and both the tray and bottle being removable from the assembly. The first heat exchanger may be embedded in a thermal store 43 and surrounds a major portion of a compressor 47 to attenuate noise.
