Elevators for material handling shuttles

A system comprising a first sortation system 270 comprising a first container matrix, a second sortation system 272 comprising a second container matrix, a track 260 disposed between the first sortation system and the second sortation system, wherein the track comprises a first and second level, a shuttle 220 configured to access both sortation systems using the track and comprising a permanent magnet, an elevator track disposed between a loading zone (figure 5, 550) at the first level of the track and an unloading zone (figure 5, 560) at the second level of the track, and a platform coupled to the elevator track to move between the zones, configured to engage with a lower surface of the shuttle at the loading zone, such that the platform is configured to lift the shuttle off a first set of rails of the track at the loading zone and on to a second set of rails at the unloading zone.
