Zusammenfassung: | A method of preparing a catalyst for water gas shift, comprising a) coprecipitating an aqueous solution comprising a soluble salt of iron, zirconium, cerium or a mixture thereof, a soluble salt of platinum, using a solution of ammonium hydroxide as the precipitant. The pH is maintained between 8.0 and 10.5 and the mixture stirred at between 20 and 80 °C. The solution is aged for between 0.5 and 2 hours. b) Filtering and washing the precipitated material with water or ethanol. c) Drying the filtered material at between 60 and 150 °C for between 1 and 6 hours followed by calcination at between 300 and 400 °C for between 1 and 5 hours. d) Shaping the calcined material to obtain catalyst pellets. Preferably the iron and cerium salts are nitrates or acetates and the zirconium salt is oxychloride and the platinum is in the form of hexachloroplatinic acid. |
