Outdoor power equipment vehicle adapted for performing work operations on turf surfaces

An outdoor power equipment vehicle (2 fig 1) comprises a frame (4 figure 2) carrying a prime mover (6 figure 2) and has a pair of front wheels (8 figure 2) and a pair of rear wheels (10 figure 2). At least one pair of wheels are steerable, wherein the front and rear rears are driven by a hydraulic drive system powered from a prime mover through a front hydraulic traction circuit and a rear hydraulic traction circuit. A control system controls pressure in the front and rear traction circuits to achieve a ground speed with both circuits targeting a pressure that produces equal torque to the respective front and rear pairs of wheels. The control system monitors through a feedback control loop either the pressure in the traction circuits or the torque driving the front and rear wheels to detect a misbalance between them and adjusts the pressure in at least one of the traction circuits to return the circuits to balance.
