Zusammenfassung:The apparatus comprises a controller configured to receive an indication of oxygen concentration in the flow of the gases provided to the patient (FdO2), receive an indication of oxygen saturation of the patient (SpO2) and receive a target SpO2. The controller in a control phase controls the FdO2 to achieve the target SpO2 using feedback control including a wait phase prior to the control phase. The controller also makes a determination as to whether to enter a feed-forward phase prior to transitioning to a control phase wherein the FdO2 is held constant during the wait stage.
