Obtaining the communication protocol may include retrieving the communication protocol corresponding to the identity information from a plurality of candidate communication protocols stored in the first electronic device, according to the identity information. Retrieving the communication protocol may include recognizing at least one of type information or identification information of the second electronic device as the identity information, based at least on the at least one of the type of information or the identification information determining an association relationship between the at least one of the type information or the identification information and the plurality of candidate communication protocols, and based on the association relationship determining the communication protocol corresponding to the identity information.
