Zusammenfassung:A system (100 fig 1) manages power of a motor vehicle and comprises at least one sensing device (102 fig 1) in relation to a state of an operator 112. The system (100) comprises a processing unit (104 fig 1) which determines the state of the operator 112 according to the received sensing signals. The processing unit (104) switches a system of the vehicle to a power saving mode corresponding to the state of the operator 112. The system (100) may include instructions to conditionally change a scanning rate of a vehicle system (106,108,114 fig 1) to trigger the power saving mode. The scanning rate may be low occurrence or high occurrence. A default occurrence mode may be included. The invention is aimed at least partly at ameliorating a problem of high energy consumption of idling electronic devices on board a motor vehicle.
