Haircare appliance

A haircare appliance 10 has a heater housing 14 containing a heater assembly 34, and an airflow generator 36 disposed in the heater housing. The haircare appliance has a circuitry housing 12 remote from the heater housing, and airflow generator control circuitry 60 is disposed in the circuitry housing, which saves space within the heater housing allowing for a smaller, and lighter hand-held appliance. A wire 16 extends from the circuitry housing to the heater housing, and couples the airflow generator control circuitry to the airflow generator. The airflow generator control circuitry may comprise a switch for comprising controlling current flow to the airflow generator. The airflow generator may comprise a single-phase motor and an impeller. The circuitry housing may contain a power converter (62; Fig. 2), a thermal protection circuit (66; Fig. 2), and a relay (68; Fig. 2). The heater assembly may comprise a heater controller (50; Fig. 2) that controls heater drive circuitry (48; Fig.2) and communicates with the airflow generator via low voltage differential signalling.
