Zusammenfassung:A hair styling device 2 is disclosed which includes an input for allowing a user to choose a hair styling, at least one heater for heating the hair, and a power sensor (20, fig.2) for sensing and outputting sensor data indicating the power supplied to the heaters. The power drawn by the heater may be indicative of the amount of hair loaded into the device, and so if the sensor data indicates that the amount of power supplied to the heater is greater than a predetermined threshold, a feedback message is generated to the user indicating that too much hair has been loaded into the device. The device may comprise communication circuitry to transmit sensor data to an external processing device such as a mobile phone. Feedback messages may be output on an interface associated with the user (13, fig.2). The feedback is preferably an audio or visual signal. The feedback may include instructions on how to use the hair styling device. A method of hair styling using such a device is also discussed.
