Zusammenfassung:	An inlet valve assembly 10 of a fluid pump of an internal combustion engine comprises an inlet valve member 56 that is movable between a closed position and an open position and which comprises a first biasing means 48 configured to bias the inlet valve member in a first direction (d1, Fig. 2) towards the open position, when the inlet valve member is in the closed position; and a second biasing means 54 configured to reduce the speed of the inlet valve member 56 when the inlet valve member is moving in the first direction, d1, towards the open position. The invention aims to improve noise, vibration, and harshness associated with high velocity clash of components and potential damage caused thereto.
