Zusammenfassung:A structural framework component 200 suitable for an aerial platform (fig.1,100) has a body 201 defining a cavity 203 to receive a support system 301, and an arm 205 to receive a payload. The arm has a conduit to receive cabling linking the support system and the payload. Preferably, the body contains a composite such as a carbon fibre reinforced polymer and/or a thermally insulating high-density foam core lining. The component may have a transition section 213 of reducing cross-section between the body and the arm; the arm removably secured to the transition, and the transition receiving a fairing. The arm may have one or more apertures 215 to receive a fixing to mount a component of the aerial vehicle and/or a collar to enable a leaf structure (fig.4,401) to be mounted to the arm. The arm may have a square, rhombus or diamond shaped cross-section, with a vertex of the arm in line with the centre of a face of the body. Also claimed is an aerial platform with a boom with a mounting section suitable for receiving the structural framework component, where the component may be partially housed within the mounting section.
