Dynamic resource allocation

A wearable device, comprising: one or more processors configured to: detect a wear status of the wearable device 602; and in response to the wear status, allocate resources of the wearable device to one or more functions of the wearable device 604. Said resources comprise one or more of a power supply, protection circuity, an interface, or a number of sensors. The wearable device may be a smart watch, smart glasses, headphones, or headsets. Also included is a system comprising a wearable device and host device communicably coupled thereto for detecting wear status and allocating resources to functions of the wearable device. Also, when a change is detected in the wear status of the wearable device, the resources allocated to the functions of the wearable device are also changed in response.
