Apparatus for grabbing and removing space debris and out of service satellites from orbit

A funnel 1 is attached to a pivoting arm 2 which is attached to the payload bay of a space vehicle or spaceplane 4. The arm 2 pivots to allow space debris or a satellite 3 to be guided into the payload bay of the space vehicle or spaceplane or to apply a change of velocity to enable the satellite or space junk to de-orbit. There may be two or more funnels and there may be two or more pivoting arms (see e.g. figure 2). The funnel may be semi-flexible. A concave side of the funnel may be tacky to allow it to adhere to the debris or satellite.
