Zusammenfassung:	A first aspect is an inflow control device comprising an inlet 204, an outlet 206, a housing 202 and a first 210 and second body 208 arranged within the housing. The second body is moveable relative to the first body and in an electrically energised state, the first body can magnetically attract or repel the second body. The inflow control device is configured to switch between an open and closed state by electrically energising or de-energising the first body. In the open state, a continuous flow path is defined in the housing and in a closed state, the first and second body are in closed positions to block the continuous path. A second aspect is a smart well (1300, Fig 13A) divided into zones by packers. Each zone comprises a tubular, a sand screen, a connecting channel within the wall of the tubular for transporting fluid from each screen to an inflow control device, electrical conductors and a control device. The control device controls the state of each inflow control device by electrically energising or de-energising the inflow control device. A third aspect is a method for controlling the smart well. A fourth aspect is a method for operating the inflow control device.
