Electrical connector with a secondary locking device

A electrical connector (1) comprising a housing (11) defining a receiving space (12), and a first opening (14) in communication with the receiving space and configured for receiving a first electrical terminal (2). The housing (11) comprising a primary locking device (112) configured to secure the first electrical terminal (2) at a defined position within the receiving space (12); and a secondary locking device (13) comprising one or more locking elements (132). The secondary locking device (13) is located within the receiving space and configured to be moveable between a pre-locked condition and a locked condition. In the pre-locked condition, the secondary locking device (13) and the housing (11) are configured to permit the first electrical terminal (2) to move into, or out of, the defined position. In the locked condition, the one or more locking elements (132) of the secondary locking device (13) are configured to lock the first electrical terminal (2) in the defined position.
