A vehicle trim assembly (100, Figure 1) comprising a static part (110, Figure 1) with a volume that can house an airbag 150; and a lid 120 that is releasably fixable to the static part (110, Figure 1). When the airbag 150 is deployed, a force is applied to the lid 120 that releases it from the static part (110, Figure 1). In an embodiment, the lid 120 comprises a stiffening element (122, Figure 2) that controls motion of the lid 120 when it is released from the static part (110, Figure 1). In another embodiment, the lid 120 is fixed to the static part (110, Figure 1) via at least three releasable fixings (130, Figure 4); and motion of the lid 120, when it is released from the static part (110, Figure 1), is controlled via the releasable fixings (130, Figure 4) being released in a specific order. The lid 120 may be connected to the static part (110, Figure 1) by a tether 160.
