Zusammenfassung:	A design system (1) using the three-dimensional finite element method to assist in the design of a structure to be designed. The design system is characterized by comprising a calculation unit (4) for: using design data relating to the configuration of and the load on a structure to carry out three-dimensional analysis of the stress components that will act on the structure in response to earthquake input; calculating a history indicating the relationship between two or more stress components that will act on the structure; setting a design stress space so as to envelope an area including the history in a protruding shape; and using the design stress space to calculate a first design stress that will act on a cross section of the structure.
