Zusammenfassung:A motor vehicle (100, Figure 1) comprises a traction battery module 10 arranged in the vehicle floor (102, Figure 1) and extending symmetrically in relation to the vehicle center M in the transverse direction X. The module has a hermetically sealed module housing 20 containing at least one cell stack pair 600 made up of a left-hand-side and a right-hand-side cell stack 60, 60'. Each cell stack includes at least two battery cells 62. A gas space 66 is formed in the module housing in the vehicle centre and between the left-hand and right-hand cell stacks with respect to the vehicle transverse direction. The gas space may be cuboidal and have a width of at least 10 cm and at most 30 cm in the transverse direction. The module has a bottom wall 26 in a horizontal plane which includes a degassing element 30 centrally in the vehicle in the region of the gas space. The degassing element may be a gas-tight rupture disk. A planar liquid-cooled base 40 having a degassing opening 46 may be disposed centrally in the vehicle, below the module bottom wall, and in vertical alignment with the degassing element.
