Zusammenfassung:A connector for fluid chromatography has a female assembly 12 which includes a receiving member which receives and releasably interlocks with a male assembly 10. The male assembly comprises a capillary conduit 22, a sealing gasket 24, a force transmitting member 32, and a hollow handling nut 38. The gasket accommodates the front-end portion of the capillary conduit and has a front-end flange 24* with a bevelled rearward facing surface 26. It stands out slightly from the capillary conduit in a disengaged condition and becomes compressed into flush alignment when the assemblies are engaged. The force transmitting member slidably accommodates a portion of the sealing gasket and has a rearward facing force-receiving surface as well as a bevelled front face 32*. The dimensions of this front face are complementary to those of the bevelled rearward facing surface of the gasket. The hollow handling nut comprises a passage 40 which accommodates a portion of the capillary conduit and has a forward-facing force-exerting surface which contacts the rearward facing force-receiving surface of the force transmitting member.
