A system and method for forming a moulded article

Method and system for forming moulded article 22 comprising preparing fibre suspension in a suspending liquid, feeding the fibre suspension to a porous mould 15, removing the liquid via pores of the porous mould 15, applying pressure to internal walls of the article 22 via an impermeable surface 19 to expel further liquid through the pores of the mould 15 and removing the article 22 from the mould 15. The moulded article may be subjected to a non-porous mould 25. Pressure may be applied to the article 22 in in the non-porous mould 25 to impart the shape of the non-porous mould 25 to the external walls of the article 22. The walls of the porous mould 15 may be cleaned after removing the article 22, cleaning may comprise reversing expelled liquid back through the mould 15 or use of a water jet against the mould walls. A further step may comprise applying a coating to a surface of the article 22 which may comprise spraying an internal base and sides of the article. Also claimed is a neck fitment 35 for a container made from a fibre suspension.
