Zusammenfassung:Systems and techniques for rotating LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) safeguards. The process includes receiving, at a LiDAR's spinning unit 801 from the base unit, a command to activate a laser 820. Obtaining, at the spinning unit, a measurement from a sensor 824 to detect rotation of the spinning unit in the rotational plane. The process determining, using a control circuit 830, whether a rotational speed of the spinning unit is greater than or equal to a minimum rotational speed threshold based on the measurement and activating, at the spinning unit, the laser in response to the command to activate based on a determination that the rotational speed of the spinning unit is greater than or equal to the minimum rotational speed threshold. The control circuit preferably configured to obtain sensor measurements of the rotation during operation and suspending operation of the laser if the rotational speed is detected to be below the threshold.
