Zusammenfassung: | Thermally insulating packaging 100 comprises an arrangement of a cellulosic paper pulp layer between first and second cellulosic paper layers 120, wherein the arrangement is sewn together by stitching with a thread 120. The volumetric mass density of the pulp is preferably between 20 and 50 kg/m2 and may comprise 5 to 8% water by weight. Preferably at least 70% of the fibres within the pulp have fibre lengths of 3 to 10mm. At least one of the paper layers may have a waterproof coating. The thread is preferably cellulosic. The stitching may comprise first stitching 130 that is overlock stitching and has a stitch density of 200 to 400 stitches/m, preferably extending along at least two opposed edges of the packaging. There may also be second stitching (140, fig. 1H), preferably extending beside the first and spaced from it by 1 to 2cm. A method of manufacturing the packaging is also claimed. |
