Vehicle seat mounting plinth

Provided is a plinth 50 suitable for mounting a vehicle seat 32 to a vehicle floor 22. The plinth 50 comprises a flange 52 for mounting to a vehicle floor 22; a mount 56 for mounting a seat 32 to the plinth 50; and a unitary body 54 that extends between the flange 52 and mount 56, thereby defining a partially-enclosed volume between the flange 52 and the mount 56. The mount 56 may be integrally formed with the unitary body 54; and the body 54 may have a rear opening 66 for receiving the feet 90 of a vehicle occupant. Also provided are a vehicle seat 32 comprising a seat base frame (92, Figure 7) attached to the seat mount 56 of the plinth 50; a vehicle comprising a flat floor upon 22 which the plinth 50 is mounted; and a method of installing a vehicle seat 32 to a vehicle floor 22.
