Dynamic resource allocation

A wearable device, comprising: one or more processors configured to: detect a wear status of the wearable device 602; and in response to the wear status, allocate resources of the wearable device to one or more functions of the wearable device 604. Said resources may comprise one or more memory and one or more processors or selecting a firmware configuration to be loaded into memory. The wearable device may be a smart watch, smart glasses, headphones, or headsets. Also included is a system comprising a wearable device and host device communicably coupled thereto for detecting wear status and allocating resources to functions of the wearable device. Also, when a change is detected in the wear status of the wearable device, the resources allocated to the functions of the wearable device are also changed in response.
