Zusammenfassung:A composition comprises amorphous calcium phosphate glass particles dispersed in a polymer comprising cellulose acetate propionate, polycarbonate, or acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS), wherein the glass particles contain silver oxide and/or silver sulfadiazine. Preferably, the composition comprises 1500-4000 ppm silver oxide and/or silver sulfadiazine. The molecular weights of cellulose acetate propionate, polycarbonate, and ABS may be 1000-3000, 150-400, and 100-350 g/mol, respectively. Another polymer may be included, especially an elastomer like ethylene-vinyl acetate. The composition is typically antimicrobial. Articles comprising the composition are also disclosed, which may be spectacle cases comprising ABS or eyewear, such as spectacles, sunglasses, or safety glasses, having frames comprising cellulose acetate propionate or polycarbonate. A method of manufacturing such articles comprises dispersing the glass particles containing silver oxide and/or silver sulfadiazine into a carrier to form a dispersion, blending the dispersion into the polymer to form a blend, and shaping the blend, e.g. by injection moulding.
