Zusammenfassung: | Access traffic steering, switching, and splitting (ATSSS) rules are generated based on conditions in a 3GPP network and a non-3GPP network, where the latter may be a satellite network or a WLAN. The rules are generated by an application function (AF) node operating between the control plane and user plane of a core network, and indicate which of the networks are to be used for transmission of access traffic between the user equipment (UE) and the user plane function (UPF) node. Network conditions may be determined based on information obtained from the management and orchestration (MANO) layer, from network function nodes, from the UPF node or the UE. The information may include status information of bearers associated with connectivity paths of the networks, such as quality of service (QoS) and availability. The conditions may pertain to logical or physical connectivity paths. |
