Improvements in or relating to organic material

A synthetic slip resistant floor covering material comprising a layer of synthetic material which contains one or more degradable polymeric particles with a hardness of greater than the hardness of the layer of synthetic material and the hard particle(s) comprise at least one exposed at an upper surface of the floor covering. There may also be one or more soft degradable particles present with a hardness the same or less than the synthetic material. The particles may be transparent or partially opaque. The hard particles may comprise polyester, the soft particles may comprise polyhydroxyalkanoate and/or an acrylic co-polymer. There may be a protective coating covering the synthetic material such that one or more of the particles still penetrate the protective layer to be exposed. Additionally includes layers may comprise, foamed, support or decorative layers. The synthetic material may be transparent to expose decorative layers provided below. Also included are claims to a method of applying such particles to a synthetic material layer which may include the step of applying a protective coating layer.
