Facade

A prefabricated facade panel 100 comprises a supporting panel, a plurality of parallel rows of a plurality of surface elements 200 and a plurality of brackets 300. Each surface element 200 comprises a rear face facing the supporting panel 100, each bracket 300 is formed independently from the supporting panel 200 and connected to it. The surface elements 200 each comprise an angled groove formed on the rear face and each bracket 300 comprises one or more angled protrusions engaged with the angled grooves to mechanically secure the surface elements 200 to the supporting panel 100. The surface elements may be blocks or bricks, the surface elements and the brackets may be adhered to the supporting panel. The brackets may be fixed to the supporting panel by mechanical fixings, and the panel may be fixed to a structure by mechanical fixings passing through it. The brackets may have weep vents and the angled protrusions may extend upwardly such that surface elements in a row cannot be removed from the brackets once the surface elements in the row above have been positioned. Mortar may be provided to fill joints between the surface elements.
