Zusammenfassung:	The position sensor comprises a sensor assembly, which comprises a sensor arrangement and an influence application controller. The sensor arrangement comprises a plurality of first sensors 104 that are spaced apart from each other in a first direction D1, and each of the first sensors comprises an optical element 102 that is configured so that an optical characteristic of the optical element changes with varying influence applied to the optical element. The influence may be a mechanical force. The influence application controller 106 is movable relative to the first sensors along a path that is substantially parallel to the first direction to cause a variation in influence that is applied to the optical element of one or more of the first sensors, thereby to change the optical characteristic of the optical element of the one or more first sensors.
