Composition for agriculture

A combination of seaweed extract, a pesticide and at least one superabsorbent polymer. The seaweed extract is selected from algae obtained from species of Ascophyllum nodosum, Fucus vesiculosus, Laminaria digitata, Laminaria hyperborea, Laminaria saccharina, Eklonia maxima, Sargassum spp. and their mixtures. The super absorbent polymer may be starch-g-poly (2- propenamide-co-2-propenoic acid) potassium salt or crosslinked 5 polyacrylic acid potassium salt. The pesticide is an agrochemically active agent selected from herbicides, insecticides, fungicide, miticides, acaricide or combinations thereof. Preferably the pesticide may be a combination of an insecticide and a fungicide. Said insecticide may be chlorantraniliprole and said fungicide is mancozeb. Said insecticide may be acetamiprid and the said fungicide is sulfur. Also claimed are methods of controlling fungal diseases, improving vigour or yield of a plant, and controlling soil borne fungi and insect pests. The method comprising applying a composition comprising seaweed extract and a super absorbent to a locus. The locus may be a plant propagation material prior to sowing.
