Control device for a steam generator

A steam generation system is disclosed. The system comprises a steam generator, a hydrogen (H2), oxygen (O2) and purge gas supply system, a water supply system and a controller. The gas supply system comprises first and second stages. The first stage is arranged to receive gas under high-pressure and to supply those gases to the lower-pressure second stage. The second stage receives the gases and supplies them to the steam generator. The controller operates they system in Prime, Run and Shutdown phases. Hydrogen and oxygen and introduced to the first stage and pressure allowed to build up in the Prime phase. The gases are passed to the second stage at a lower-pressure and then supplied to the steam generator to be ignited, along with water, in the Run phase. The supply of gases and water ceases and the system is purged in the Shutdown phase. The system regulates temperature and heat transfer to improve efficiency, whilst monitoring pressure to eliminate the risk of failure.
