Zusammenfassung:	A contra-rotating fan drive assembly comprises a first impeller 14 driven in a first direction by a driveshaft 42 of a first motor 38 comprising an inner rotor 52 and an outer stator 50. A second impeller 18 is driven by a second motor 40 comprising an inner stator 58 and an outer rotor 60, in the opposite direction. The first motor 38 is arranged coaxially and concentrically within the second motor 40 such that the second motor surrounds the periphery of the first motor, allowing for a compact fan drive arrangement.
