Zusammenfassung: | In a custom installation home theatre sound system multiple arrays of high-fidelity loudspeakers (104, 106, 108, fig 1) may be used to generate sufficient sound pressure levels, particularly at high frequencies. However, using multiple loudspeakers fed with the same signal creates problems due to destructive interference known as comb-filtering. The compensating method for driving a linear array of sound sources 710, 712, 714 comprises the steps of receiving an audio signal for a first channel of an audio system, deriving from the audio signal, a first signal and a second signal, applying a low-pass filter 708 to the second signal to generate a drive signal for one or more secondary sound sources 712, 714, and applying a corresponding high-frequency shelving filter to the first signal to generate a drive signal for the primary sound source 710. A computer program product and an audio system for generating a levelled sound field is also provided. |
