Zusammenfassung:A method for processing a data package to be sent using an application by an originator/sender of the data package to at least one recipient, the data package having an associated mode of communication. The data package is analysed 310 to determine content of at least one field of the data package. A characteristic of the data package is generated 330, wherein the characteristic is based on the mode of communication and the content of the at least one field of the data package. An incorrect action by the originator/sender of the data package is determined 340 based on the characteristic. The data package may be a message sent via email, SMS or instant messaging. The invention can prevent a message being sent to an unintended recipient or via an inappropriate mode of communication. Preferably the data package is transmitted 360 if there is no incorrect action or the sender is notified 370 if there is an incorrect action. Preferably, a correct mode of communication can be automatically switched to.
