Child safety seat and support base thereof

A support base 102 suitable for use with a child safety seat 104, the support base 102 comprising a shell body 110 for supporting a child seat 104; and a cushion 180 that deforms/breaks during a vehicle collision. The shell body 110 comprises first 110A and second 110B ends, with lateral sides (110C, 110D, Fig. 2) extending therebetween, with the first end 110A being positioned against a back of a vehicle seat during use. The cushion part 180 is attached to the body 110 and located away closer to a second end 110B of the shell body 110 to the first end 110A. The cushion 180, which can be made of a plastic such as polypropylene, foam, or polyurethane, can be located next to one of the lateral sides (110C, 110D, Fig. 2).
