A disconnect assembly

The present invention provides a disconnect assembly (1400) for disconnecting a payload (1100) from a delivery platform (1200), the disconnect assembly comprising a disconnect device (1420) for providing a releasable connection between the payload (1100) and the delivery platform (1200), an actuation mechanism (1430) for actuating release of the releasable connection, and a trigger mechanism (1440) for triggering the actuation mechanism to release the releasable connection, wherein the trigger mechanism is automated such that the trigger mechanism can trigger the actuation mechanism without requiring operator intervention at the trigger mechanism. The present invention also provides a kit of parts, a delivery apparatus and a method of disconnecting a payload from a delivery platform.
