Zusammenfassung: | A pipe coupling 12 has a tubular pin member 13 with an outer surface 14 and a tubular box member 17 with an inner surface 19 which overlies the outer surface of the pin member when the members are fully engaged together using inter-engaging projections 15 and grooves. A first metal to metal seal 25 is near the free end of the pin member and a second metal to metal seal 26 is near the free end of the box member when the members are fully engaged. The box member has a chamber 23 extending from the end of the peripheral surfaces adjacent the second metal to metal seal into the free end of the box member behind the second metal to metal seal. A tapered channel 22 in chamber 23 may fill up with pressurised fluid during make-up forcing the free end of box member 17 closer to the pin member 13. |
