Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:A connector for fluid chromatography, comprises a female assembly 112* that has a receiving member that releasably interlocks with a male assembly (110), wherein the male assembly comprises a force-transmitting member 126 for exerting axial pressurization; a capillary conduit 122 extending slidably through a passage 128 in the force-transmitting member for conveying chromatography fluid; a sealing gasket 124 surrounding a front end of the capillary conduit, the sealing gasket having a rearward facing surface located so as to directly contact a forward facing surface of the force-transmitting member for subjecting the sealing gasket to axial pressurization; a jacket 32 surrounding the sealing gasket for providing axial guidance and alignment; wherein the connector comprises a hollow handling shell 138 in which the force-transmitting member is partly accommodated. The fornt end of the sealing gasket may be stepped as to allow material deformation to occur substantially without outward bulging. A coating layer 136 may be provided on the capillary that limits insertion of the capillary into the force-transmitting member. The connector is particularly suited for high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) applications.
