Zusammenfassung:	Disclosed is a method of cleaning a compressor 6 which has internal debris or fouling, where the cleaning is done in situ, including; supplying fluid to the compressor inlet, extracting a portion of the fluid at an intermediate stage of the compressor, with the gas phase being used to cool components of the system 1 the compressor is part of, and the liquid phase being accumulated before it is supplied to the compressor inlet to remove debris as part of the cleaning operation. The liquid may be accumulated in the separator 7 before recirculating. Also claimed is a system which includes the components necessary to carry out the method of cleaning the compressor.
